We purchased this house from a property developer 16 years ago when our eldest son was studying at Sussex University because we were shocked at the standard of accommodation that many landlords were
renting to other students in Brighton. He lived here during his final year and then his younger sister moved in for another two years while she was also at Sussex Uni. When she graduated, she then
introduced a friend of a friend - a situation which has repeated itself several times since.
Our philosophy is that if the house looks great when tenants move in, then they will look after it for us while they are living there. At the end of every tenancy we spend several days preparing the
house for the incoming tenants so the day that they move in the house looks as good as it did the day we purchased it from the developers - spotlessly clean, freshly painted and good enough for our
own kids! The photos that you see on this website were taken just before new tenants moved in last year.
During the tenancy, we encourage our tenants to contact us with any problems or queries at all, whether it is something small that has broken or something more important. We want our tenants to enjoy
living in our house and would rather address a problem and sort it out early than get a nasty surprise at the end of the tenancy!
We now live locally which means that any problems can be quickly sorted out.
We choose not to utilise the services of a local agent because, prior to moving to Brighton last year I had worked for a large lettings agency in Surrey for 20 years. This means that we are able to
offer a very professional letting service ourselves and charge a competitive rent, without the need to pass on the fees that Brighton
agencies often charge.
